Pilates is an innovative and safe system of mind-body exercise using a floor mat or specialized equipment such as a reformer. Joseph Pilates developed the system to aid in athletic injury recovery. Practicing Pilates correctly and consistently helps develop strength and healthy function of the entire body, making it a perfect workout either on it’s own or in addition to an existing workout routine. The exercises are introduced in a particular order to restructure and re-pattern the body and create lasting change, so it works to bring balance to the entire body.
